Radicado em Los Angeles desde 2014, o guitarrista, cantor, compositor e produtor Brasiliense Celso Salim e sua banda estão lançando um novo álbum – Mama’s Hometown. Com performances energéticas e inspiradas, a banda apresenta um som contemporâneo enraizado no velho Blues. Sua música têm influencias de diversos estilos, misturando Blues tradicional com toques de Soul, Country, Jazz e Rock. 

Celso e sua banda também vem ganhando espaço pelos EUA após serem os únicos a ganharem dois prêmios no International Blues Challenge 2019: 3o Lugar entre bandas & Lee Oskar Harmonica para o gaitista Darryl Carriere. O IBC é um dos maiores eventos anuais de Blues no mundo, produzido pela Blues Foundation e realizado na histórica Beale Street em Memphis.

Com 9 faixas, incluindo 8 originais e uma versão da canção gospel tradicional “In My Time of Dying”, o novo álbum vêm recebendo ótimas críticas de importantes publicações, além de estar tocando em rádios de todo o mundo. A faixa título ganhou recentemente o Independent Music Awards - Vox Pop 2018 na categoria R & B / Soul Song e outra faixa "Locked Out In Misery" foi finalista na categoria Blues Song no International Songwriting Competition 2018.


No Brasil, Celso lançou 5 álbuns com sua banda desde 2001 e trabalhou com diversos artistas incluíndo Ari Borger Quartet e Sérgio Duarte Blues Band. Frequentemente destaque na cena de Blues, Celso já se apresentou nos principais festivais e casas de show do país, além de ter excursionado pela Europa. Ele também abriu shows de artistas lendários como B. B. King, Deep Purple e John Hammond, além disso ele já excursionou com o bluesman Larry McCray e se apresentou com as lendas do blues Magic Slim e Willie “Big Eyes” Smith (baterista do Muddy Waters).

Nos últimos anos, já nos EUA, a Celso Salim Band ganhou 3 competições locais: Southern California Blues Society duas vezes (2015 e 2017), Santa Clarita Blues Society (2018) e foi semifinalista no International Blues Challenge 2018 em Memphis, TN. Eles também abriram shows de artistas renomados como Joe Bonamassa, Canned Heat, Kim Wilson e Larry McCray, tocando em grandes palcos da Califórnia. Além disso, durante esse tempo Celso dividiu o palco com músicos ilustres como Scott Page (Pink Floyd, Supertramp), Jimmy Z (Etta James, Rod Stewart), Kenny Lee Lewis (Steve Miller Band), Johnny Stachela (Allman Betts Band) e Matt Abts & Jorgen Carlson (Gov’t Mule).


A Celso Salim Band ganhou cinco Independent Music Awards nas seguintes categorias: Blues Song (2008), Blues Album (2015), Jazz com vocais Song (2015), Funk / Fusion / Jam Song (2017) e R & B / Soul Song (2018).
